Summer and Winter Silent Sports in the Keweenaw
Michigan Tech and Swedetown started grooming November 10. See the trail reports page for the latest.
Keweenaw Trails provides information about the silent sports in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, particularly Nordic skiing, mountain biking, and road biking. The site includes information and maps of the main area trail systems. Keweenaw Trails is a volunteer effort.
Nordic Ski Trails
Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula has over 100K of groomed cross country trails at several trail locations. Both Michigan Tech and Swedetown have some lighted trails for evening skiing and offer trails groomed for both skating and classic. All areas also have snowshoe trails and several areas offer snowbike trails. See the map and information about individual trail systems.
Snow Bike Trails
Three area trail systems offer groomed snow bike trails during the summer. Swedetown and Churning Rapids have dedicate snow bike trails, while Michigan Tech allows snow bikes on most trails.
Mountain Bike Trails
The Keweenaw has more than 100 miles of mountain bike trails – most of it single track and catering to all ability levels. See the trails page for maps and locations.
