Chili Chase January 31, 2015, at Michigan Tech Trails
The Houghton High School National Honor Society will sponsor a cross country ski race at the Michigan Tech ski trails on Janurary 31. Racers can choose from 5km and 10km events, or participate in the 5km/10km pursuit. Register at www.houghtonnhs.weebly.comThe races and prices are:
5km Skate- Adults $20, Child under 13-$15
5km Classic- Adults $20, Child under 13-$15
10km Freestyle- Adults $25, Child under 13-$20
5km +10km Pursuit- $30*
*The Pursuit includes the 5km classic and the 10km freestyle. Your times from both races will then be added for a combined time.
The races will take place at the Michigan Tech Trails trailhead, and a chili lunch will be served at the Houghton High School at 12:00 PM. Race times are as follows:
7:30-8:30 AM: Packet Pickup @ Old warming Chalet at MTU
9:00 AM: 5km Skate @ Main MTU Trailhead
9:05 AM: 5km Classic @ Main MTU Trailhead
9:45 AM: 10 km Freestyle @ Main MTU Trailhead
12:00 PM: Chili Lunch @ Houghton High School
Proceeds gathered at the charity event will be donated to the SKY (Simple Kindess for Youth) Foundation, a local charity that helps students in local schools gather supplies for the school year.
