The 2018 Breakers to Bridge Paddle Festival will take place Sept. 8 at the beach at the Houghton side of the North Portage Entry (Houghton Breakers). The first wave of paddlers will depart from Breakers at 10 a.m. The start of the paddle will be a Le Mans start, meaning paddlers will run to their boats and start paddling instead of everyone starting in the water. There are two aid stations—near the Marsin Center and Hancock Beach—for paddlers to stop at for aid, otherwise there will be limited support during the paddle.
Timing will start when the wave is released and will end at the Lift Bridge. The post race meal and celebration will be at the Houghton East Waterfront Park next to Super 8.
Lunch, catered by Baby E's BBQ, and boat demos by Paddle Dynamics will follow.
