Registration Open for 2013 Great Bear Chase
Registration is open for the 32nd annual Great Bear Chase ski marathon, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Swedetown trails in Calumet. Skiers can choose from among 50k classic and freestyle, 25k classic and freestyle, and 14k classic and freestyle races. The Great Bear Chase will again commence from the new Spruce Street start area and the course has no road crossings. The registration fee includes a massive lunch spread at Calumet High School after the race, entertainment, overall and age-group awards, and a chance at raffle prizes.
Registration fees are $45 for the 25k and 50k races before December 31, 2012, and increase at various intervals up through race day. Mail-in and online registration are both available. The Great Bear Chase is the last ski marathon of the season in the Midwest and is a Birkie qualifier.
