Registration Open for Lake Superior Youth Symposium

The Lake Superior Youth Symposium, May 16-19, 2013, will be an outstanding learning opportunity for Grades 7-12 students and their teachers from throughout the Lake Superior and Great Lakes watersheds. Registration is now open and continues through April 30.

The program includes 25 different field trips and 25 different presentations by scientists, historians, artists, writers, college students, National Park and U.S. Forest Service specialists, conservation organizations, student role models, and others on a wide range of topics related to Great Lakes and water quality, fish and wildlife, conservation, sustainability, poetry, art, photography, and more.

The symposium cost is $140 per participant, and includes 3 nights lodging in Michigan Tech residence halls, all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast, and all field trips, presenters, and activities. Sunday lunch is optional. Students need to come with an adult chaperone (teacher, parent, youth leader, etc.). The registration deadline is April 30, 2013.
