Cross Country Skiing Grants Available
The Keweenaw Community Foundation has a grant available through the Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Endowment Fund. These funds will be granted according to the guidelines established by the Keweenaw Community Foundation Grant Committee.
The total amount available for grants from Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Fund is $1188.00. The purpose of the program is to support, promote, develop, and sustain quality cross country skiing in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties.
The granting decisions will be based on efficient use of these funds. Applications which make efficient use of the funds, and positively affect the most people will be looked at favorably. For that reason, applications for the purchase of ski equipment for use by small groups have not been accepted in the past. Grants in previous years have supported ski lessons, helped with a groomer purchase, and bought hand tools for local ski trails.
You can download the grant applications here. Applications are due at the Keweenaw Community Foundation (236 Quincy Street, Hancock, MI 49930) no later than Monday, November 21, 2011. Decisions and disbursements will be completed by December, 2011. Details of grant requirements are included in the grant application.
