Churning Rapids Snow Bike Groomers Seek Help
The snow bike trail groomers will be back in action this winter at Churning Rapids, but they need some help to keep things going. The volunteer group maintains about eight miles of singletrack during the winter and just used a loan to purchase a used snowmobile (2004 Yamaha).
The group is collecting donations through the Copper Harbor Trails Club, since that organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Donations can be made via a link on the group’s Facebook page, in person at Cross Country Sport in Calumet, or Down Wind Sports and Rhythm Bike & Board Co. in Houghton, or by sending a check to the Copper Harbor Trails Club (P.O. Box 37, Copper Harbor, MI 49918).
In addition, the Michigan Tech Velovations Enterprise is designing and building new grooming implements for the club.
