Ride the Keweenaw May 23-25
The trails are shaping up and mountain bikers will be ready to roll for the annual trail celebration that is Ride the Keweenaw. The weekend will start out in Greenland on Friday evening with a ride through the Adventure Mine, then continue on Saturday with guided group rides at Michigan Tech, Churning Rapids and Swedetown Trails. On Sunday, guided rides will continue in Copper Harbor, with a new Enduro Race and Downhill Race (as part of the Lake Superior Gravity Series) added to the schedule of events.
The weekend will wrap up Sunday evening with a fundraising BBQ catered by Fitzgerald’s restaurant and music with Steve Jones & the Garden City Hot Club in the Copper Harbor Park. Note that schedule of events and ride routes will be adjusted based on trail conditions, but we can assure participants that there will be riding. The Enduro is a go in Copper Harbor, but the Downhill race will be tentative. Follow the Copper Harbor Trails Club Facebook page for event and trail updates!
While the guided rides are free to attend (no registration required), participants do need to register for the Enduro, Downhill and BBQ Fundraiser. EARLY REGISTRATION has been extended through Sunday, May 18th! All events are open to the public. You can register and see the full schedule of events atwww.copperharbortrails.org
For those new to Enduro, the event includes three times sections of mostly downhill trails with untamed transition stages in between. As long as you finish all three stages within a designated time frame you ride at your own pace.
Please spread the word to riders, potential riders and those that just want to eat some fabulous BBQ and listen to Steve Jones and the Garden City Hot Club do their thing.
