Swedetown Work Day Nov. 12

Posted on

If you missed the October Trails Day at Swedetown this year, you still have a chance to jump in on one final trails project. We are adding a new stadium (start/finish) area for the 2012 Bear Chase. A short connector trail funnels the racers into the Tamarack Loop. This connector is new, with heavy equipment work completed this week.

For the final touch before snow cover settles in, we could use some volunteers to remove fist-sized rocks from loose soil.

If you are able to help on Saturday, November 12, show up at 3:30 p.m. on Spruce Street in Calumet. Spruce Street is the next street after the Chalet entry drive. Park on Spruce Street near the large obvious roadwork garage about 1/4 mile down the road. Folks will be on hand to show volunteers where to start picking.

Wear gloves and good boots because there is loose dirt. No special tools needed. We can do this trail work in rain, shine or snow. Saturday is predicted to be sunny so come on out!
