Keweenaw Cup Cyclocross Oct 18-19 in Copper Harbor
The Red Jacket Cycling Team presents the seventh annual Keweenaw Cup Cyclocross Race, a two-day cyclocross extravaganza in Copper Harbor October 18-19, 2014. Saturday’s Downtown Hoedown is in “downtown” Copper Harbor starting at 1 pm, and Sunday’s Top of the World Smackdown starts at noon at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. For details, see keweenawcup.com
Copper Country Color Tour Sept. 27
Sponsored by the MTU cycling club, the 41st annual Copper Country Color Tour will take place Saturday, Sept. 27, with an 8 am roll-out in Houghton. The cycling event includes 50km, 100km and 200km routes with expertly marked courses through the beautiful roads of the Keweenaw. This year features an improved 50km route. Annual Bridge Walk September 1, 2014

Youth Mountain Biking Program Begins July 16
The Western U.P. Health Department will coordinate this year’s youth mountain biking program. Similar to other years, there will be evening group rides, with groups divided based on speed, skill and fitness, led by adult volunteers. Ages 10-17, no charge.
