KLT Forums Start April 9; Community Survey Available
The public is invited to participate in the development of Keweenaw Land Trust (KLT) conservation priorities by taking an online survey and by attending community forums. The community forums are free and open to the public: Tuesday, April 9th – Houghton High School Multi-Purpose Room; Thursday, April 11th – Horizons Alternative High School Gym in Mohawk; Wednesday, April 17th – CJ Sullivan Elementary School cafeteria in L’Anse. Annual Outdoor Gear Swap Slated for April 13
The Copper Country Ski Tigers will hold their annual used outdoor gear swap Saturday, April 13, at the Houghton High School multipurpose room, with the swap starting at 10 am. KNSC Annual Meeting April 17
The Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club (Maasto Hiihto & Churning Rapids ski trails) will hold its annual meeting Wednesday April 17th at 6:30 PM at the Mine Shaft on Razorback Drive in Houghton. Per the bylaws a new board will be elected and a short business meeting will precede the election. All interested persons are encouraged to attend; only members (season pass holders) can vote. Interested in being a board member? Please come. Bowling and shoe rental paid by KNSC; food and beverages paid by individuals. Questions? Tech, Swedetown Grooming Daily; Grooming Ends at Chassell, Maasto
There is still plenty of base in the Keweenaw and conditions remain very good at the Michigan Tech Trails and Swedetown. Both trails continue to groom daily.
Chassell and Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids have stopped grooming for the season, since their equipment isn’t suited to the icy conditions created by the daily thaw/freeze cycles this time of year.
