Winter Ronde This Saturday, Feb. 9, at Tech Trails
The Winter Rondevous Snow Bike Race will take place Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Michigan Tech Nordic ski trails. Race-day registration is available ($35). Once again, snow bikers will have the opportunity to take to the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Trails. Generally off-limits to snow bikes, this is your one chance to experience all of the ups and downs of the Tech’s lower trail system in all of their lung-burning glory. The 15k course feels like 30k and will mainly feature Tech’s immacuately prepared ski trails. Weather and conditions permitting, sections of singletrack – familiar to racers the MTU MTB Rondevous contested every August – will be included in the event. Glide-N-Gorge Slated for March 3, 2013
The 5th annual Glide N Gorge will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from noon until 3pm at the Maasto Hiihto ski trails in Hancock. The 3.5 mile Glide, which will begin at the chalet at the Houghton County Fair Grounds, will guide you through some of the most spectacular scenery our trail system has to offer, with plenty of delicious eats along the way. Ski for the Key, Remaned “Ski for the Heart,” February 16
Ski for the Key, the new name of the former “Ski for the Heart,” will take place Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Swedetown trails. The event will benefit two Keweenaw organizations: Omega House, which provides residential hospice care, and the Swedetown Trails Club, responsible for maintaining the Swedetown ski and mountain bike trails in Calumet.
