Demo Day Jan. 6 – Fat Bikes Welcome at Tech Trails That Day
In conjunction with Down Wind Sports ski, snowshoe, and fat bike demo day at the Tech Trails this Sunday (Jan 6), the entirety of the trails will be open to fat bike use. This is a special event for this day only.
We encourage all you fat bikers to come out and help familiarize other trail users with your sport and help us gain experience with fat bike use throughout the trails. And if you don’t yet have a fat bike, or want to try out some back country skis or snowshoes, drop by the Down Wind Sports booth between 9 am and 3 pm at the main trailhead and borrow some equipment.
All trail users are required to have a day pass, season pass, or be under 18 or a Michigan Tech student.
The only bikes allowed on the trails in the winter are snow bikes. This means 3.8″ and up tire width and tire pressure below 10 psi
Show courtesy for other trail users. Bikes yield to skiers (skiers don’t have brakes). Do not ride in the tracks. If you can’t make a hill, please move all the way to the edge of the untracked side of the trail to walk your bike up. Ride only in the permitted direction on one way loops. Observe and obey signage regarding trail flow.
Hope to see you out there Sunday to help us make this a fun, educational event.
