City Plows End Grooming on Nara Trails

Posted on

This note from Michigan Tech received March 31, 2014:

“Our trail groomers had a surprise this morning while grooming the Michigan Tech Trails. The city of Houghton has plowed the Nara Loop and part of Ridge Loop down to dirt. They are getting prepared for possible flooding at railroad grade on Peepsock Creek culvert.

“We apologize to all our trail users but we were not informed earlier to get this information out. Ridge Loop, Nara Loop and other trails near the Nara Chalet will no longer be groomed or connected to the Upper Tech Trails. Signs have been posted at intersection of trails that are closed.”
