Fall Color Classic Run/Walk October 5, 2013
Formerly the Cobble Gobble, the Fall Color Classic 8K run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Gratiot River North trailhead. Walkers being at 9 am, and runners go off at 10 am. It is sponsored by the North Woods Conservancy and is a fundraiser for Save Keweenaw Beaches. For information and registration see http://fallcolorclassic.org/Fall_Color_Classic/
Jeffers Half-Marathon and 5K September 21
The 9th annual Jeffers Half-Marathon and 5K Walk/Run will take place Saturday, Sept. 21, at the high school in Painesdale. The half-marathon begins at 8 am with the 5K walk/run starting at 9 am. Proceeds benefit the school’s athletic program. You can download a registration form here.
Great Deer Chase Mountain Bike Race August 17
The Aspirus Keweenaw Great Deer Chase showcases the Swedetown Recreation Area summer trail system. Proceeds support the continued creation and maintenance of mountain bike trails at Swedetown as well as a bike park near the Village of Calumet. The 15- and 28-mile races start at 11 a.m. at the north end of 5th Street and will lead out the Calumet Heritage parade at 11 a.m.

Lake Linden Wild Goose Chase Aug. 24
The Lake Linden Wild Goose Chase features a fast course with spectacular views of the water, and has the least expensive entry fee around. Not only do participants enjoy numerous chances at winning prizes, delicious post-race snacks, and an event for the children, but they have a great time being silly chasing after the goose. This race is for everyone – fast, slow, young, old, and everyone in between. You can even bring your canine friends. Come be part of the action! 5km run/walk, 10km run, kids fun run.
