Tech Trails Citizen’s Night Series Opens Dec. 19
Dates: Tuesday nights @ 6pm on the lighted Michigan Tech Trails

Come one…come all…to the fun and family oriented race and community ski series on our Michigan Tech Trails this winter season! The idea is basic, to provide our greater community an opportunity to come enjoy our trails and the sport of skiing through a fun, family oriented participation based environment. The goal is simple, provide the opportunity for our Nordic community to come together to enjoy our sport and Nordic lifestyle in the Copper Country, and strengthen our community engagement with the MTU Nordic Ski Team! Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Team Plans Dec 16-17 events for alumni and friends
Friends and alumni of the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Team are invited to three events to be held in conjunction with our MTU CXC Cup race series the weekend of December 16-17. The events include a social at the Continental Fire Company on Saturday, an open 5km race on Sunday, December 17, and a meet-and-greet with the team immediately after the Sunday race. All are invited and there is no cost.

Start Your Thanksgiving Outside: Turkey Trot!
The UP Health System-Portage 2017 Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving morning, Nobember 23, at 9 am. Participants meet in the front lobby of UP Health System-Portage in Hancock to register (or you can register online). Walkers and runners will head out on Portage Drive, down to Ingot, and west to the DNR trail, then to Tomasi Road and back to the hospital. Snacks and refreshments follow. Ski Tigers Host Annual Gear Swap October 28
The Copper Country Ski Tigers are holding their annual ski and gear swap Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Houghton High School multi-purpose room from 10 AM to Noon.
Buy and sell outdoor gear – cross country skis, snow bikes, bikes, camping gear, outdoor clothing, or any other item for the silent sports enthusiast. Sellers – take the opportunity to sell that gear now. Buyers – stock up! The Ski Tigers will also wax your skis in preparation for winter for a nominal fee, and as always, there will also be delicious baked goods for sale! Continue reading →
