Swedetown Trails Day October 22
Swedetown Trails will host the annual trails day on Saturday, October 22. Skiers, mountain bikers, and others who use and appreciate the trails are invited to meet to help clear brush and ready the ski trails for the winter.
Trail day takes place rain or shine. Meet at the Swedetown chalet and be ready to go by 9 a.m. The work will continue until noon and lunch will be served afterwards in the chalet.
Bring sturdy and warm clothing, including boots and gloves. All tools will be provided.

Help Get Maasto/Churning Ready for Ski Season
Skiers, mountain bikers, hikers, and other fans of the Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids trails: the Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club needs your help. There are a number of jobs – large and small – that need to be completed this fall to get ready for the ski season. Keweenaw Cup Cyclocross Oct. 15-16
The Keweenaw Cup Cyclocross Race, a two-day cyclocross extravaganza, is scheduled for October 15-16, 2011, in Copper Harbor. The event includes the “downtown hoedown” on Saturday, and the “top of the world smackdown” Sunday at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. Continue reading →

Cross Country Skiing Grants Available
The Keweenaw Community Foundation has a grant available through the Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Endowment Fund. These funds will be granted according to the guidelines established by the Keweenaw Community Foundation Grant Committee.
