Spring Gear Swap Coming April 12
The 9th annual Spring Gear Swap sale will take place Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 10 am until 12:30 pm in the Houghton High School multipurpose room. Drop-off is Friday (5-7:30) and Saturday (9-9:45 am), with the swap opening at 10 am. The swap is a great place to recycle all sorts of outdoor gear by buying and/or selling. Buyers find great bargains on used gear. Sellers pay just 15 percent commission per item for the convenience, with a maximum of $50 commission per item regardless of price.
The gear swap usually features cross country skis, alpine skis, snowboards, a good selection of ski boots and poles, a variety of children’s and adult bikes along with bike tools and parts, car racks, camping gear like tents and backpacks, a big selection of outdoor clothing, sometimes kayaks, canoes and boating equipment, soccer cleats, ice skates and other items that help us play outside and enjoy life in the Keweenaw.
All proceeds help support the Ski Tiger Race teams.
